Tonic herbal bone broth latte

This has been one of my favourite winter recipes for a few years now.  It’s super quick and easy (unless you have to make the bone broth, in which case it’ll take a long time)

This is one of a myriad of ways to get your tonic herbs and gut-healing bone broth in.

You can add in any tonic herb of your choice, but there are some that go better than others.  Astragalus, Codonopsis and the mushrooms tend to go really well here.  Permission to get creative!

Ingredients – serves 2

Just under 2 cups of Bone broth (recipe if you’re interested or purchase options)

  • Source of fat 2-4 tsp, one or a combination

  • Coconut Oil

  • Coconut butter

  • Grass fed butter

  • Ghee

  • MCT oil

  • A pinch of sea salt (optional)

  • 2-4 tsp of your favourite tonic herbs

Eg. 1 Tsp each of Astragalus, Codonopsis and Cordyceps

  • Even add in a pinch of Cinnamon to really tie it together

Steps

  1. Add bone broth, fat and salt to a pot and warm up to a temperature you’re comfortable drinking, making sure the fat is dissolved

  2. Transfer this mixture and your tonic herbs to a blender and blend until foamy.  Make sure the lid is secured tight!

  3. Pour into your favourite mug

  4. Sit down and enjoy this warming, nourishing bev with a friend, lover or mother
